Ulster - River Lagan
River Lagan
Co. Antrim
The season on the Lagan lasts from March 1st until September 30th. This is a very good river to fish, being well maintained and kept well stocked. The river is perhaps the best brown trout river in the Province and catches can be fruitful in the streches from Donaghcloney to Blackskull. There is a six bag limit and the strecth is fly only.
The river over the last number of years has seen a comeback in Sea Trout. They can be taken at Stranmills Weir in Belfast, usually on maggot or worm in the months of August and September.
