Lough Derg - Monday, 5 February 2007
AS reported by the Shannon Regional fisheries Board
2nd May 2007:
The beautiful weather continues for now but is expected to change over the upcoming holiday weekend. Fishing has been mixed. The Mayfly season is in full swing on Derg and there are sheets of gnat going out all over the lake as we write. Evening gnat fishing should be very good over the upcoming weekend. The Mayfly season is now just starting on Lough Ree and should peak over the coming week. Athlone Anglers Association will be keeping us up to date on their Mayfly competition news. Our own midland fisheries have been quiet enough. While there's not much angling activity on Sheelin, those who are fishing are getting a few fine fish to 7lbs. Ennell is similar with some quality trout to over 7lbs reported.
