The Mayfly season on Lough Derg has been disappointing overall. The total recorded catch was 40 trout at Killaloe, 40 trout at Ballina and 50 at Garrykennedy. The heaviest trout reported were 3 lbs 5 ozs. at Garrykennedy, 4 lbs 12 ozs. at Ballina and a 2 lb. 5 oz. Fish at St. Flanans.
